2022-23 College Basketball – All-Name Team

We haven’t lost a ton of guys off of last year’s list due to the extra year of eligibility many guys are taking advantage of, so we will have some fifth (or even sixth) year guys soon.

We picked through every Division-I college basketball roster and a few smaller schools for our list. This year’s class is strong and is a better version of last year’s All-Name Team.

My name is Bobby Roberts, so I am often jealous of people with unique names. The most unique thing about my name is that I was not born ‘Robert Roberts’, Bobby is my given name. I don’t know too many grown men named Bobby.

This list consists of names that we wished he had and ones we find humorous. Enjoy!

2021-22 College Basketball – All-Name Team

We lost a few players on last year’s College Basketball All-Name Team (I wish the best of luck in the future to guys like Goodnews Kpegeol). We have a lot of returning faces due to the NCAA giving another year of eligibility to athletes due to the pandemic, but we do have a decent amount of new names on this year’s list.

2021 NBA Draft – Best Undrafted Players

The 2021 NBA Draft is two rounds and consists of just 60 picks, so not every good college basketball player will hear his name called. Many NBA teams opt to select players with a higher upside and some of those picks are foreign players they wish to just stash overseas.

There are still some very good players left to sign, but with another short offseason, they may not get as many opportunities to get noticed as in previous years.

Milwaukee Bucks guard Bryn Forbes won an NBA title this year and he went undrafted back in 2016.

This is not the end of the road for these players. There are many undrafted players in the NBA, so a few of these guys will still make their dreams come true in the future.

Here are the best undrafted players not selected in the 2021 NBA Draft.

2020-21 College Basketball – All-Name Team

We didn’t lose that many players on last year’s College Basketball All-Name Team. We were in a little bit of a rebuilding phase after losing many the year before. We actually have many new faces/names on this year’s list.

Can Kentucky Basketball Recover This Season?

The University of Kentucky’s record currently sits at 1-2, with back-to-back losses to Richmond and Kansas. They looked impressive in their opener with an 81-45 win over Morehead State, but that will now be forgotten thanks to this slide.

Kentucky head coach John Calipari has been able to turnover his roster most years thanks to elite recruiting classes he’s been able to sign. A handful of players go pro and a new elite class takes their spots. This season is an extreme example of that. Nearly every single player who is getting minutes right now, is new to the team. There are a ton of freshmen and transfers like center Olivier Sarr (Wake Forest) and guard Davion Mintz (Creighton) and forward Jacob Toppin (Rhode Island).

2020 NBA Draft – Best Undrafted Players

The 2020 NBA Draft is two rounds and consists of just 60 picks, so not every good college basketball player will hear his name called. Many NBA teams opt to select players with a higher upside and some of those picks are foreign players they wish to just stash overseas.

There are still some very good players left to sign, but due to the pandemic, there is no Summer League to prove they belong in the league. Also, it’s unknown what sort of Gatorade League will happen for the 2020-21 season. This group of undrafted players will have some unique obstacles in their way.

Guys like Alex Caruso and Quinn Cook won an NBA title this year and they went undrafted in their respective draft classes.

This is not the end of the road for these players. There are many undrafted players in the NBA, so a few of these guys will still make their dreams come true in the future.

2019-20 College Basketball – All-Name Team

College Basketball 2019-20 All-Name Team Boo BuieMany names on last year’s College Basketball All-Name Team were lost to graduation and the NBA. There’s always some one-and-done players, but we lost some all-timers like Tacko Fall and Bol Bol. This is more like a rebuilding year, but there are a handful of great new names that head up this year’s All-Name Team.

We picked through every Division-I college basketball roster and a few smaller schools for our list. This year’s class is solid and right up there with last year’s All-Name Team.

My name is Bobby Roberts, so I am often jealous of people with unique names. The most unique thing about my name is that I was not born ‘Robert Roberts’, Bobby is my given name. I don’t know too many grown men named Bobby.

Forget The Draft, It’s About The Free-Agents

Every year, only 60 players get picked in the NBA draft. That’s 60 players versus a multitude of that number in NBA hopefuls. And if you consider the NBA draft picks being the main and only game in town that decides on the future of the NBA, you might be mistaken. The world of unrestricted and restricted free-agents might be just as exciting and vibrant and, more importantly, decisive in the NBA power rankings. There could be many reasons why someone is or has become a free-agent, unpicked in the draft, released by a team due to rebuilding purposes, salary cap issues, but being a free-agent does not diminish someone’s value in the market.

There are still some very good players left to either sign for an NBA team’s Summer League spot in hopes of catching on with a team. Most will probably end up in the Gatorade League or play overseas.

Guys like Fred VanVleet and Jeremy Lin won an NBA title this year and they went undrafted in their respective draft classes.

I’m sure people who love ‘their team’ always wonder why the star of their college team didn’t even play a single minute in the NBA.

2018-19 College Basketball – All-Name Team

There’s always a lot of turnover on the College Basketball All-Name Team. Many good names only appear on the list for one year and then they either fail out of school or enter the NBA Draft. There are a few names on this year’s list that will no doubt be a one-and-done entrant.

We picked through every Division-I college basketball roster and a few smaller schools for our list. This year’s class is solid and right up there with last year’s All-Name Team.

2018 College Football: All-Name Team

It’s that time of the year, again!

What makes a great college football name?

A good litmus test is if it works as a potential pro wrestling name, it works in college football. It also works if a name sounds like a verb, phrase, a certain body part or just a bad ass football name that makes them sound tough.

We went through every team in the top two divisions in the NCAA. We went through ever single name and picked out the ones that were funny and some names we just wish we had.

My name is Bobby Roberts, so of all the people who can write a post poking fun at names, it’s me. I’m always asked if my real name is Robert Roberts (it’s not) or if my name is fake (it’s not).

Here is the 2018-19 college football All-Name team.
