2018 MLB Season Preview: Cleveland Indians

The Cleveland Indians are on a nice run. They’ve made the postseason a couple seasons in a row and have one of the most dynamic starting rotations in the Majors. They also saw young players like Francisco Lindor turn into MVP candidates.

After making the World Series in 2016, Cleveland didn’t stand pat and hope to make it again. They added power and bullpen arms to finish the job last season. They failed to make another World Series appearance, but their team was as dangerous as any other team in the Majors.

They come into this season with basically the same team. Can the Indians finally end their championship drought and win it all this season?

Here is the 2018 MLB season preview for the Cleveland Indians.

2018 Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Top 50 First Baseman

Our fantasy baseball rankings continue with the best first baseman.

The first base position is really, really deep. There’s all kind of power at the position. There is somewhat of a cliff after you get past the first five or six guys, but you will still be able to get your 1B/3B or backup 1B late in the draft.

My rankings are based on a standard 5×5 league. If you have any specific questions about a different league, email me BobbyMcrib@gmail.com.

1. Paul Goldschmidt – Arizona Diamondbacks – Goldschmidt has been a first-round pick for awhile now. He isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. He’s in the lineup every game, hits for power, is a near-automatic .295 hitter and even steals double-digit bases. He’s about as good as it gets for a corner infielder.

2017 MLB Season Preview: Cleveland Indians

2017 MLB Season Team Preview Cleveland Indians Edwin Encarnacion funnyThe Cleveland Indians had a remarkable run in the playoffs last year. If the Chicago Cubs didn’t have Aroldis Chapman, the Indians would have taken home the title. The Cubs didn’t have another reliever that could hold off Cleveland’s hot bats.

The Indians added one of the league’s best power hitters this offseason. Edwin Encarnacion is icing on the cake since Cleveland already had a lethal batting order. This means Kipnis, Lindor and Brantley will see better pitches if Encarnacion is hitting behind them.

The Indians have some of their starters back after they began to fall like flies late last year. Will they run away with the AL Central or will the Tigers keep pace?

Here is the 2017 MLB season preview for the Cleveland Indians.

2016 MLB Season Preview: Toronto Blue Jays

Drew Storen toronto blue jays 2016 mlb season preview america's white boyThe Toronto Blue Jays had an impressive season in 2015. They made some of the best trades in baseball and won the AL East.

The Blue Jays arguably have the best offense in baseball. Their lineup is loaded with power hitters who have contended for homer run titles. They also have speed and defense. One underwhelming aspect of their game is pitching. They lost David Price and Mark Buehrle this offseason and replaced them with J.A. Happ and Jesse Chavez. Their rotation needs to step up if they want to repeat as AL East champions.

Can Josh Donaldson win another MVP award?

Here is the 2016 MLB season preview for the Toronto Blue Jays.

2015 MLB Team Preview: Toronto Blue Jays

Toronto Blue Jays 2015 MLB team preview kawasaki shirtless funny weirdThe Toronto Blue Jays were a popular pick to make a big leap in 2013, but they ended up finishing in last place in the AL East that season. Expectations leveled out last year and they finished a few games over .500. After acquiring Josh Donaldson in a trade and signing Russell Martin, Toronto is expected to once again contend in the AL East again. Can they pull it off or will they fall flat on their faces again?

Injuries plagued Toronto’s potential resurgent season in 2013 and they were already dealt a huge blow when they learned their young pitching phenom Marcus Stroman tore his ACL. He will miss the entire season. Which one of Toronto’s many young pitching prospects will take his spot in the starting rotation?
