This past weekend, I was searching the interwebs for some fun browser-based games. I found a few sites that had a handful of games, but I came across Plays.org, which had an epic amount of games. Their category list is massive and filled with fun games. They were even adding new games as I was browsing the list.
I used to play a lot of browser-based games in-between studying for an exam or at the tail-end of a workday while I was waiting to leave work. Sudoku was usually my go-to game to waste a few minutes.
Browser-based games are free and can run on basically any computer. You don’t need an expensive gaming computer, which is a huge bonus. They are even cross-platformed, so you can play on your phone.
I’m not a huge gamer, but I like variety when I’m in the mood to play. I’m the kind of guy who downloads ten games on his phone and then uninstalls them after a few plays. I just like to play a lot of different stuff. You don’t have the hassle of downloading and uninstalling with browser-based games.
Here are some of the games I’ve been playing on Plays.org.
Tap Supermarket
I’m a sucker for ‘tap’ games, so I’ve probably played this game the most. I like how it starts because you have to buy different shelves and pay to stock them. It started to get pretty fast-paced within a few minutes. You can buy the entire store and the extra stockperson within 15 minutes or so. The tapping did get pretty intense after I unlocked all the shelves. I would love to see this game expanded with different stores and possibly an auto-stocking feature you can purchase with x-amount of in-game coins. It reminds me of a tap hotel game that I used to play on my phone.
Footgolf Evolution
Footgolf Evolution plays like a billiards game, but with obstacles you need to avoid or bump into in order to get the soccer ball in a hole. This is a pretty fun 2-D game and I played this one for awhile. The first few holes were rather easy, but it did get more difficult as I was playing more levels. I sort of reminded me of being a kid and playing paper football in class.
Cannonball
This game is very similar to a game that features ‘feathered creatures with attitude problems.’ You slingshot cannonballs into knights. You have to collect the stars and knock the knights off various stones and platforms. There are only ten levels, but the last two levels are fairly long. You will need to hit the TNT barrels if you want to clear the board of knights.
Dunk Shot
At first glance, you may not be super impressed with this game. It’s actually annoyingly fun. You have to slingshot the basketball front one basket to the next. At one point in the game, the basket starts to move. I found this game to be pretty difficult to make it over level 20. I felt this level of frustration once before, it was when I first started to play Flappy Bird years ago.
Mr. Bean Backyard Junk
This is the final game I’ll mention in this post. I’ve always loved Mr. Bean, so it was cool to see this game as an option. It’s not the most intricate game, but you just have to pick up the trash and avoid the holes and lawnmowers. It may not be your thing if you don’t know about Mr. Bean, but it was fun for me.
