2020 was a difficult year for many of us. The coronavirus and Covid-19 pandemic was something that very few people saw coming and it has changed the majority of lives, often for the worse, as it has spread around the world. Adapting to life around the virus has meant many day to day changes in a bid to slow its spread. Right now, many of us are working from home on a remote basis, as opposed to working in an office space. Many companies are unable to work this way and are collapsing. This means that many people are being made redundant, losing their jobs, having to work the same hours for lower salaries or having to work fewer hours for lower salaries. This means a huge impact on the economy and further struggle and financial impact. On top of this, many of us are unable to spend time with the ones we love, as we adhere to social isolation and social distancing measures. It’s all been pretty tough and we haven’t overcome the virus yet, so it seems that things will continue this way for a little while longer. But it is important to be positive. Here are a few things that you can look forward to in the upcoming year!
The Rollout of a Vaccine
First and foremost, the next year should see the roll out of a vaccine that will help us to start overcoming this virus. This is great news for everyone, particularly the vulnerable, so most of us are looking forward to it. It should give us hope and see life slowly starting to get back to usual.
Events Restarting
Many events have been cancelled over the past year. This ranges from sporting events to music events, theatre, festivals and more. So, you may have missed out on things that genuinely brought you joy recently. The good news is that once we start overcoming this virus, these events are likely to start being put back on again! So, start planning what you’d like to see and do when they begin, whether that’s New Sports in the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021 or Glastonbury Festival.
Travel
If you had a holiday or other trip cancelled in 2020, you’re far from alone. This is a situation that many of us have experienced as a direct result of borders closing and flights and accommodation being cancelled. But the future could hold more trips for you! Why not start planning now? Choose a destination, plan an itinerary and start saving to actually head away there!
These are just a few different things you can do to make the future look and feel a little brighter for yourself. These times can’t last forever and we are seeing positive progress in the right direction. There should be a return to relative normality and it may be arriving sooner than you know it! Hopefully, some of the things listed above will help you to keep your chin up!
