- To Kill A Mockingbird
You’ve read the classic book by Harper Lee, and now it’s time to come and see the theatre version. In a newly revised adaption, the show seeks to explore our current reality of sexual assault and race in politics. While the content may sound a little heavy, it’s also moving and thought-provoking and beautiful. The tale occurs in Alabama around the time of the great depression. Our protagonist Jean Louise Finch is the daughter of Atticus Finch, a lawyer defending a black man who has been unfairly accused of rape. Lee was said to have based the lawyer character on her own father.
- Come From Away
Come From Away tells the true story of 7,000 passengers who were stranded and later welcomed in by the town of Newfoundland. Here is a fantastic brand new musical written by David Hein and Irene Sankoff. Some might find it difficult to picture a show about the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, yet ‘Come From Away’ weaves a tale of humanity that’s beautiful to watch. Writers have come to refer to the show as the ‘9/12’ story.
