2019 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 7

The Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers are out on bye this week.

The teams on bye aren’t filled with a ton of must-start players in fantasy, but you could have a flex spot open, or at most, you may need a wide receiver or two.

Now that we have a good chunk of games under our belt, there’s more and more information out there to help you make better, more informed decisions to build your lineups.

How will Titans QB Ryan Tannehill fare in his first start?

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 7 of the 2019 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals.

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. My ‘sit’ players are guys I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

START’EM

  • QB Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals) – Murray had his best fantasy output of his career last week against the Atlanta Falcons. He faced a God awful secondary and he threw three touchdowns and no interceptions. He faces the Giants this week, who have had their own issues on pass defense.
  • WR Michael Gallup (Dallas Cowboys) – Gallup didn’t light up the Jets like most people thought last week, but he faces a languished Eagles secondary. Their best corners have been bad this year and Gallup is expected to line up out wide. He should have a bounce back week against the Eagles.
  • RB Derrick Henry (Tennessee Titans) – Henry hasn’t lived up to his high draft position, but he faces a bad Chargers run defense. Henry has been getting into the endzone recently and he should have a couple more opportunities against the Chargers, who tend to pass rush more than they should. I expect the Titans to rely on Henry a little more now that QB Ryan Tannehill is starting for them.
  • QB Jacoby Brissett (Indianapolis Colts) – The Colts are coming off a bye week and he faces the Texans at home. Houston’s defense hasn’t traveled well this year and Brissett has been throwing more than people expected coming into the year. He should have a solid fantasy output this week.
  • Buffalo Bills Defense & Special Teams – The Bills face the winless Dolphins this week. I’ve been saying this all year and I’ll say it again, the Bills defense is one of the best young defenses in the league. They should mince the Dolphins in Northern New York.
  • RB Latavius Murray (New Orleans Saints) – This pick is mostly for an open flex spot. Murray saw the most touches of the year last week due to RB Alvin Kamara’s bum knee and ankle. Murray may not light up the box score, but he should do pretty well with added touches against the Bears.
  • WR Auden Tate (Cincinnati Bengals) – Tyler Boyd used to be the only Bengals receiver you wanted, but Tate has done the most with his targets the last couple weeks. The Bengals face the Jaguars this week. The Jags secondary is stacked (even without Jalen Ramsey), but Tate should still get near-double-digit targets this week.
  • TE Gerald Everett (Los Angeles Rams) – Everett was on fire until he ran up against the Niners last week. The Rams have a the horrible Falcons pass defense on the schedule this week. Everett should get back on track against Atlanta on Sunday.
  • TE Hunter Henry (Los Angeles Chargers) – Last week, Henry suited up for the first time since Week 1. He lit up the Steelers with eight catches for 100 receiving yards. QB Philip Rivers is going to look for him this weekend against the Titans.
  • New England Patriots Defense & Special Teams – The Patriots face the Jets on Monday Night Football. The Jets are coming off a big upset win against the Cowboys. They will be humbled by the Patriots.
  • RB Adrian Peterson (Washington Redskins) – The Redskins went to more of a run-first offense in their first week without fired head coach Jay Gruden. They barely squeaked out a win against the Dolphins using this strategy, but I expect them to keep handing the ball off to AD against the Niners.
  • WR Courtland Sutton (Denver Broncos) – The Broncos face the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. Denver has been a heavy run-first team this year, but Kansas City may build a big lead on Denver, so Broncos will need to pass. Sutton is the best big-play receiver on Denver and will get some targets.

SIT’EM

  • RB Jamaal Williams (Green Bay Packers) – Williams was given more touches than Aaron Jones last week. I can’t really explain why, but I can’t imagine that happens this week against the Raiders. I expect Jones to get the lion’s share of touches this week.
  • WR Dede Westbrook (Jacksonville Jaguars) – I’m not sure why Westbrook is stilled owned in fantasy. He hasn’t had a single week in which he was worth a start. If you have him on your team, dump him for John Brown or Courtland Sutton).
  • QB Teddy Bridgewater (New Orleans Saints) – Bridgewater has done really well against bad defenses, but hasn’t done much of note against good ones. The Bears are coming off a bye and need to get their London loss to the Raiders out of their minds. Bridgewater will see a lot of pressure and I don’t expect him to have a good fantasy week.
  • RB Matt Breida (San Francisco 49ers) – Brieda finds himself in the Sit’em section for the second week in a row. He hasn’t been relevant in fantasy since RB Tevin Coleman came back from injury. The Niners have a good match-up this week as the Redskins have allowed some good fantasy outputs against opposing running backs, but I don’t think he’s worth an RB1 or RB2 spot. If you are stuck with Breida, he’s really only worth a flex spot if you’re in a pinch.
  • Any Tennessee Titans Wide Receiver – It’s not like the Chargers secondary is amazing, but I don’t have much faith in Titans QB Ryan Tannehill. He might be better than Marcus Mariota right now, but he was very bad on his former team.
  • RB Darrell Henderson (Los Angeles Rams) – Last week, Henderson saw his first touches since Week 1. He only had six carries for 39 yards and a catch for nine yards, but he’s being added to teams again. I understand that Todd Gurley isn’t himself, but as long as Malcolm Brown can go (in any capacity), I don’t see Henderson getting enough touches to be worth a start in fantasy.
  • TE Eric Ebron (Indianapolis Colts) – Ebron is basically a touchdown-or-bust option in fantasy right now. The Colts face the Texans this week and Houston’s linebackers are pretty darn good against opposing tight ends. I will have to sit him this week.
  • Seattle Seahawks Defense & Special Teams – The Seahawks have a rough match-up this week against the Baltimore Ravens. QB Lamar Jackson is just a difficult player to gameplan against and I will most likely sit any opposing defenses most weeks.
  • QB Andy Dalton (Cincinnati Bengals) – They Jaguars traded away their best cornerback, but they still have stacked secondary. I expect them to pressure Dalton quite a bit and force a poor decision or two.
  • WR Robby Anderson (New York Jets) – I’ve listed Anderson in this section plenty times over the last two years. He’s an all-or-nothing receiver and he finally had his best week of the season with QB Sam Darnold back. He faces the Patriots this week and I don’t see him catching many deep balls this week.
