Taking Life Slow With Sports

If you think about sports, you think about something that’s going to get you out of your seat, your blood pumping, and make you feel like you’re anything but the couch potato everyone else thinks you are. Let’s face it, if you’re not some Instagramming fitness bunny, who healthy no matter what, the rest of the world thinks you’re a slob. But when it comes to sports, something you might actually be able to get yourself excited about, all of them seem like they require too much energy. Now, there are some of us who would like to start taking life slow. Our energetic, do everything, days of our lives are over, and now it’s time to settle down into the life we were always meant to lead. So rather than thinking that sports is the last place you’d be able to find this life of solitude, let’s explore some of the sports that will actually allow you to take life slow, but still give you that all important hobby that will give you a bit of difference in your life.

Golfing

An old man’s sport, right? Well no. If you follow golf at all, you will know that some men are making their millions through this sport, and it actually grips the nation when the live games are on. Although it might be one of the slower sports to follow, it’s still a sport that people love. Now whilst we know you’re not going to be able to make your millions, we do know that it is the perfect sport to settle into. It’s a sport for perfectionists, and it’s actually so easy to get into. Once you get really into it, you can think about buying your own golf clubs and clothes to wear, and really settle into this lifestyle. A lot of golf courses with have club houses that people become members of, and it really is a civilised way of life for you to join. Once you’ve had a few taster lesson, and once you start making a few friends through this, we just know it’s a sport that you’re going to be able to get into for life.

Cycling

Cycling is something that you really need to have the mindset to get into, if you want to get really into it. But to be honest, once you build up the stamina and get into it, it becomes a leisurely sport that allows you to see some of the most beautiful parts of the country at your own pace. There are plenty of cycling groups that you could get involved in, or you could simply do it on your own. You’ve got the choice of going cross country, or you can follow some road routes that would take you off the beaten track anyway, so either would be worth it!

Rock Climbing

Now this is one that you’re definitely going to have to try and master. Rock climbing is hard, purely because it requires so much upper body strength and technique. We definitely would recommend practicing on indoor rock climbing centers first, and then moving really simply to outdoors. But once you get into the swing of things, this really is a therapeutic sport for you to try!
