He’s got 99 Problems but Signing Superstars Ain’t One

Saquon Barkley recently signed with Roc Nation Sports agency, the company that was started by world famous rapper, Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter. It was a huge acquisition for the organization with Barkley widely considered to be the number one running back prospect ahead of this year’s NFL Draft. If Barkley is selected as top choice, it will be the third time in just four years that the agency has represented the first pick running back in the league. With Jay Z having already conquered the music world, it seems as though he now has his sights set firmly on professional sports, and rising stars from everywhere are lining up to be a part of the Roc Nation team. Let’s take a look at five of the company’s biggest signings to date.

Number 5 – Leonard Fournette

Fournette has just completed a very impressive rookie season after being drafted  as the fourth overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He broke numerous records during his time playing college football at LSU, and is tipped by many to become one of the best running backs in the NFL. The Jaguars had a terrific season last campaign and exceeded most football pundit’s expectations.

They went all the way to the AFC Championship game but were unfortunately beaten by the New England Patriots 24-20. With players like Leonard on the up at the franchise, Jacksonville are definitely a team to watch next season and are extremely good value at +2200. Some bettors may choose to use free-bet promotions like they have at Champion Bets though, to minimize the risk factor for backing a long shot.

Number 4 – Dez Bryant

The Dallas Cowboy has been a great client for Roc Nation. He is one of the most recognizable faces in the NFL and has also been selected for three Pro Bowls as well as being the receiving touchdowns leader back in 2014. The 29-year old has also started his own official brand and apparel line called ThrowUpTheX.

Number 3 – Ndamukong Suh

Suh is a huge asset for Roc Nation and has won countless awards including five Pro-Bowl selections and four First-team All-pro. Even if the fiery offensive tackle is often in the headlines for the wrong reasons, any publicity is good publicity, right? He started off his career at the Detroit Lions but has been with the Miami Dolphins since 2015.

Number 1 – Kevin Durant

There is no denying the sheer quality that Durant possesses. He is a bona-fide superstar and easily takes the number one place on this list. As one of the top five basketball players in the country, he boosts Roc Nation’s reputation as a top tier agency tremendously. The amount of achievements and awards that he has won is far too long to even mention, and he will go down as one of the all time greats to ever play the game.

When you look at this list it’s easy to see how Jay Z has turned Roc Nation into one of the biggest names in the industry. The only question that is left to ask, is who will they sign next?
