2018 March Madness: #8 Missouri vs #9 Florida State

We hope to help you beat your siblings/friends in your bracket pool.

Missouri had high hopes of being a top seed going into the season. They were unlucky and lost star Michael Porter Jr. in the first game of the season. Well, he’s back and this team could be a tough out in this tournament.

Florida State struggled down the stretch in the ACC, but they are a difficult physical match-up with nearly any team as they are long.

Who do you think will win?

Do you have #8 Missouri or #9 Florida State?

The Missouri Tigers were one of the preseason favorites in the SEC, but then super freshman Michael Porter Jr. went down with a major injury in the first minutes of their first game. They were still pretty good without Porter Jr. for most of the year. He came back during the SEC tournament, but his younger brother Jontay played better than him. I almost want to chalk it up to rust as Porter is an elite talent.

The Florida State Seminoles were a bubble team going into Sunday, but really shouldn’t have been. They had some solid wins over Florida, North Carolina and Clemson, but their non-conference schedule was cupcake-heavy. They are a tall, long team, but struggle on defense during conference play. They will need to turn up the defensive pressure to advance past the first round.

Mizzou has a ton of talent on their team. You may as well throw out their record as the addition of Porter Jr. could be a game-changer. If he plays as well as he should, FSU will have a major issue trying to guard him. I’m going to take the Missouri Tigers.

Prediction: #8 Missouri Tigers
