The Art of Sleeping Well In The Great Outdoors

Even though camping is a really cheap vacation option, relatively few people decide to do it because they associate it with all its disadvantage. Bad weather, uncomfy tents, and poorly equipped campsites sure are enough to put anyone off camping for life! But, believe me, there are ways you can get a good night’s sleep in your tent. You just need to follow all of these great tips!

Research Campsites

There are some campsites out there that are a lot worse than others. They will have hardly any facilities and might not attract the best campers, and both of these factors could disrupt your night’s sleep. So, research all of the sites in the area you want to stay and find out which are highly rated by your fellow campers. It’s worth going on review websites such as Tripadvisor. If possible, get some word-of-mouth recommendations from your friends.

Pitch Up Near The Facilities

Once you get to the campsite, you need to decide where to pitch your tent. Ideally, you should try and stay fairly close to the facilities. That way, you won’t struggle to find the toilet in the middle of the night! Packing some of the top night vision monoculars on the market will also be a help as they aren’t as bright as torches when you’re trying to get to the facilities in the dark – that bright light could wake you up, making it harder to get to sleep! However, don’t pitch up too close to the loos as it could get quite smelly!

Pack Plenty Of Bedding

Sleeping under the stars could end up quite uncomfortable if you just take some sleeping bags. So, it’s really worth trying to fit in as much bedding into your car as possible. As well as plenty of blankets, duvets, and pillows, it’s also a good idea to take an inflatable mattress with you too, so you don’t feel any of the stones that might be under your tent!

Resolve Sound Issues

There’s a lot of noises that could keep you up while you camp. These include sounds from wildlife and your fellow campers. Thankfully there’s an easy way to deal with them all – wear earplugs! You might even find that putting in some earphones and listening to music or a podcast is enough to help you drop off.

Store Food Well

If you are going to take some food with you so that you can enjoy outdoor cooking, it’s really important that you also have the correct storage for it. Some Tupperware tubs should be sufficient. Remember that you need to bring all of the food into the tent with you at night. That way, it won’t attract any racoons or other critters to scratch around your tent in the middle of the night!

If you give it a go, you will find that camping can be really great fun. Just remember all of the tips above so that you get plenty of sleep each night and wake up feeling refreshed!
