The Dayton Flyers have a nice seeding and an ideal placement with their early games being played in nearby Indianapolis. Archie Miller has lead Dayton deep in the NCAA Tournament in the past. Can he do it this year?
Wichita State got hosed by the selection committee. They are much better than their seeding suggests. This should be a fun game to watch.
Can Wichita State upset Dayton in Indianapolis?
Who do you think will win? We help you fill out your bracket.
The Dayton Flyers won the Atlantic 10 regular season title, but laid a goose egg in their first conference tournament game against Davidson. They basically ran the table in the conference during the regular season, but they clearly have an issue looking over an early opponent in a tournament setting. This will make four-straight NCAA Tournament appearances for Dayton. This is also head coach Archie Miller’s best team he’s had there.
The Wichita State Shockers are the class of the Missouri Valley conference. Unfortunately, the NCAA Tournament selection committee thought poorly of the conference as a whole. The Shockers actually tied the Illinois State Redbirds (17-1) for the regular season title…Illinois State failed to get to even get an at-large bid. I think giving WSU a 10-seed is a little crazy myself. Their only losses were to Louisville, Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Illinois State.
I hate that these two teams have to face each other so early. The seeding is off and now one of these teams has to go home early. The Shockers are loaded with shooters that can play defense. I have to go with them to advance.
Prediction: #10 Wichita State Shockers
