East Tennessee State won the Southern conference tournament and earned an automatic big.

The Florida Gators were one of the best teams in the SEC. If Kentucky wasn’t in the conference, you would hear more about Florida. They run a lot of isolation plays with very little pick and roll. Kasey Hill and Chris Chiozza are the only two guys that really distribute the ball. They don’t have one elite scorer they rely on, so Florida has many players that are free to shoot if they are open.

The East Tennessee State Buccaneers were in a three-way tie for the regular season Southern conference title. They are lead by senior guard T.J. Cromer. He can hit shots from all over the court. They are beatable if they shut him down. They don’t really have a solid secondary scoring option. Desonta Bradford and Tevin Glass aren’t at the same level as Cromer.

I really like Florida and think they could give #1 seed Villanova a run for their money when they eventually meet. The Gators will be a tough team to knock out.

Prediction: #4 Florida Gators
