We are here to help you fill out your brackets and finally beat ‘Rhonda the intern’ in your office pool this year.
The Big East conference tournament was fun to watch this year. Seton Hall just lined them up and kept winning. The Pirates would have been a fun sleeper pick in the NCAA Tournament if they didn’t end up winning the conference tournament.
The West Coast Conference was weak this year. We are used to them getting at least one at-large bid during the peak years of the Gonzaga/St. Mary’s rivalry. St. Mary’s was on the bubble, but didn’t get in, so Gonzaga is the lone representative from the WCC this year.
Who do you think will win? We help you fill out your bracket.
The Seton Hall Pirates are one of the hottest teams in the nation. If they didn’t go onto win the Big East conference tournament, they would have been a trendy sleeper. I was kind of hoping they wouldn’t win it. They ended up getting a #6 seed thanks for Isaiah Whitehead and their efficient defense. I think they are now seeded properly in the tournament.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs haven’t been seeded this low in quite awhile. I think they weren’t given much respect due to the overall weak West Coast Conference this season. I love watching Kentucky-transfer Kyle Wiltjer and second-generation big man Domantas Sabonis play. Wiltjer could already be playing in the NBA, but wanted to stay at Gonzaga for his senior year. Wiltjer deserves at least one more NCAA Tournament moment before his college career is over.
As much as I loved Seton Hall heading into Selection Sunday, seeing them draw Gonzaga in the first round is disappointing. I would have liked for this to possibly be a second round matchup. Gonzaga got hosed with a #11 seeding and is much better than that. This game will be fun to watch. I predict Gonzaga to get the win.
Prediction: #11 Gonzaga Bulldogs
