2015 March Madness: #16 Seed Play-In Game – North Florida vs Robert Morris

2015 NCAA Tournament North Florida Robert Morris March Madness picks bracketThe winner of North Florida/Robert Morris will face Duke. I don’t know if the winner will feel like the victor when they see Jahlil Okafor in person. It could get real ugly.

North Florida comes from the Atlantic Sun. The magical place where Florida Gulf Coast (aka Dunk City) was born. Is tournament magic contagious?

Robert Morris finished the regular season in second place in the Northeast conference. They beat SFNY Brooklyn in the tournament final to punch their ticket.

Who do you think will win? We help you fill out your bracket.

The North Florida Ospreys come from the same conference former Cinderella team, Florida Gulf Coast. They play an up-tempo/high percentage style offense. They are deadly from long range. The entire team has a 3-point shooting percentage of 39%. Beau Beech and Trent Mackey are their best from that range.

This is the first tournament appearance for Robert Morris since 2010. They did make postseason news in 2013 when they defeated defending champion Kentucky in the NIT. Robert Morris has their own sharp shooter on the their team. Rodney Pryor shoots 42% from downtown and is the team’s leading scorer.

North Florida isn’t getting much love in the brackets. These teams are evenly-matched. I often go with the team with the higher team shooting percentage when I think the game could be a coin flip. I have to go with the Atlantic Sun luck and believe North Florida will catch lightning in a bottle.

Prediction: North Florida Ospreys
