It took eight weeks, but the Michigan State Spartans are finally healthy. Adreian Payne and Branden Dawson missed some time with injuries and MSU was a .500 team without them. They both came back at the end of the season and the Spartans once again looked like a championship contender. They are coming off a Big Ten tournament championship, beating Wisconsin and Michigan along the way. Tom Izzo knows how to prepared his teams for the NCAA Tournament.
The Delaware Fightin Blue Hens earned an automatic bid by winning the Colonial Athletic Association conference tournament. They are a three-headed monster offensively. Upperclassman Devon Sadler, Davon Usher and Jarvis Threatt all average over 18 points per game. They push the tempo and can cause their opponents to play fast.
Michigan State guard Gary Harris is one of the best college basketball players in the country. If Delaware tries to push the tempo, Harris could easily end up with 30+ points. Michigan State knows what they’re doing in the tournament. They take it one game at a time and will advance to face the winner of Cincinnati/Harvard in the East Region.
Prediction: #4 Michigan State Spartans
