The Kansas State/USC game was set to showcase two of the top freshmen in the country, O.J. Mayo and Michael Beasley. Mayo had a decent game and showed flashes of greatness, but Beasley and Bill Walker was a 2-man wrecking crew. USC made a run with about 10 minutes left in the game, but Beasley was cleaning the glass like he was a homeless guy at a stoplight.
Winning this game pretty much solidifies Beasley as the #1 pick in the draft. He was probably going to be first overall anyways, but winning a game on a national stage, like when he beat Kansas, doesn’t hurt his case. The Miami Heat is tanking games for a reason, if they match Dwayne Wade with him, they are back in the playoffs next season
