There’s nothing better than settling in for an evening of Netflix. But do you ever wish that you could turn it into more of a cinematic experience? Well, you’ll be happy to hear that you can! These following hacks can really improve your whole Netflix experience, and they might even help you think you’re sitting in the cinema!

Beat Buffering

Do you get really frustrated when you have to wait for the video to buffer? There’s really nothing more annoying! There are a few hacks that can help you beat this, though. First of all, you should try manually adjusting your bandwidth. You can do this by opening a menu by clicking Shift+Alt or Shift+Option+Click on a Mac. You will then see a menu of different bandwidth options that you can use to choose your buffering speed. It’s also a good idea to watch Netflix at off peak times. There will be fewer people around the world viewing videos and this can improve the overall buffer time.

“Orange Is The New Black” Season 3 Review

Orange Is The New Black Season 3 review netflix three piperI just finished binge-watching season three of “Orange Is The New Black” on Netflix. As a big fan of the first two seasons of the television show, I came into this season with high hopes…but I was left quite disappointed.

I don’t want to throw a bunch of spoilers in this review because I’m guessing only a handful of people have actually finished it by the time this is post is live. I know I would be mad if I had an entire season ruined for myself if I accidentally ran across spoilers before actively looking for them.

Season three is setup like the previous two seasons. You get present-day storylines with backstory flashbacks thrown into every episodes. I still like this method of storytelling, but the flashbacks are becoming less enjoyable.

‘BASEketball’ Cast: Then & Now

BASEketball-then-and-nowI really hate admitting this, but BASEketball is one of my favorite movies. I saw it with friends in the theater and I still find myself not turning the channel when it comes on HBO (it’s on as I’m writing this).

The movie only made $7 million at the box office, but has gained a cult following since its release on DVD.

The stars of the flim, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, are the creators of South Park. The duo went on to produce the puppet-oriented movie Team America: World Police and even the popular Broadway play The Book of Mormon. BASEketball is the only project they starred in that they didn’t write or produce.

It’s now 2013 and many of the stars went on to do interesting things and some, not so much.

Find out what the cast looks like now and what they’ve been up to since filming BASEketball.

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog Visits GABF [VIDEO]

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog never disappoints. The character made famous by Robert Smigel on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” is still going strong with videos on “Conan” on TBS and all over the internet

Triumph visited the “Great American Beer Festival” in Denver and poked fun at the entire craft beer industry. And yes, a 40oz. of malt liquor makes an appearance.

VIDEO: Matt Harvey Asks New Yorkers about Matt Harvey

This is fantastic. It’s proof that even diehard New York Mets fans who follow the baseball cannot even recognize their favorite baseball player without his hat. Matt Harvey has thrown less than 20 starts in Major League Baseball, but you would think this would be a slam dunk, right?

I’m guilty of this. It wasn’t in person, but when I saw Wade Boggs without his hat, I didn’t recognize him. Granted, it was on a commercial in which he used a product to regrow his hair. I don’t think it matters, baseball players just look weird without a baseball hat.

‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ has really cranked it up since Fallon was named future host of ‘The Tonight Show’. I hope the show doesn’t change and make the mistake Conan did when he took over the reins. The decision to move ‘The Tonight Show’ back to New York City will help bring new life to the program. NBC will miss having the guests Los Angeles can provide, but they’ll make do with having both its late-night shows based in NYC (I didn’t really count Carson Daly’s show, because only two or three people watch it).

By the way, Matt Harvey will be starting pitcher for the National League team in this week’s MLB All-Star Game.

What If “Breaking Bad” Debuted in 1995? [Video]

I love when people are creative on YouTube.

The YouTube user GoesToEleven, who earlier released a video of the 1995-style opening credits for “The Walking Dead”,has done it again. This time he uses the television show “Breaking Bad”.

This is the best thing on the internet right now.

NHL Talk: Eric Fehr, Bad Books & Tim Allen

Two hockey guys talking hockey.

Joe Pasquali and Eddie Theisen are two die-hard NHL fans. They both watch every hockey game, every night (almost).

The guys talk about subliminal messages in Disney movies, Minnesota Wild’s coach Mike Yeo’s job security, the Staal brothers and which NHL games are they most looking forward to this weekend.

After you read a few of their morning hockey conversations, you start to understand why these guys didn’t have any Valentine’s Day plans last night.

This is their email conversation the following morning. Continue reading

NHL Talk: Karlsson Injury, Waffles & "Charles In Charge"

Two hockey guys talking hockey.

Joe Pasquali and Eddie Theisen are two die-hard NHL fans. They both watch every hockey game, every night (almost).

The guys talk about how to deal with a breakup, Erik Karlsson’s freak injury, they ask each other if Sidney Crosby is back and tasty food to throw at players.

Did these guys really have enough time to have a long hockey conversation on Valentine’s Day? Did they not have plans?

I forgot…neither of these guys have a girlfriend. This is their email conversation the following morning. Continue reading
