Just because they like sports doesn’t mean they want to don a helmet and hit the field. The majority of fans nowadays are armchair supporters. If you don’t understand the term, congrats; you’re a true fan. Normally, fans prefer to sit down and watch an event rather than take part personally. Still, while sitting in their favorite armchair with a beer and nachos is a good way to spend a Sunday, it is nothing like being at the venue. When they are in the stands, they will be able to hear and feel the roar of the engines as the cars fly past. Anyway, every NASCAR venue has beer and food available, so it’s the best of both worlds. For instance, football is a fantastic physical sport but you’re going to need a lot of people to play with you and a huge field with goal posts and everything. Tennis is great too, but you won’t be able to play without a net. Golf is another excellent sport, but you won’t be able to play it unless you make regular trips to a course and have expensive gear. This is why we usually make sports a group outing so that we can go to a field or a park to play. However, what about playing sports at home? Is it as lame or boring as people make it out to be?

The Monster Energy Cup is the Daytona 500 of Supercross

Supercross monster energy cupIf you’re not a Supercross fan, what are you waiting for? Some of the world’s best riders face-off on a dirt track…in a stadium. There are big jumps, tight corners and neck-and-neck battles for position. They basically compacted the best parts of Motocross that gives spectators the best view possible.

It took me awhile to really become a Supercross fan. Television doesn’t quite capture the experience. I went to an event at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis with some friends…and after that, I was hooked. I’ve been to a few other events since and actively search for it on television.

Can Davi Millsaps repeat this year and take home another Monster Energy Cup?
