Joel Embiid May Need Another Surgery

Joel Embiid Philadelphia 76ers NBA basketball sadPhiladelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid was a breath of fresh air in the NBA this season. He is great at social media, loves to poke fun at the Sixers tanking by owning the nickname ‘The Process’ and he was really, really good at basketball.

He may have only played 31 games this year, but his presence made a huge impact. He was averaging 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game before a partially-torn meniscus sidelined him for the remainder of the year.

Embiid had to sit out two seasons after undergoing two major surgeries on his right ankle. So the Philly fanbase is worried about Embiid possibly going under the knife again.

Weight_lifting_black_and_whiteIt’s a big year for sport. With some great fixtures spanning a whole variety of disciplines, there’s never been a better time to be a sports fan. Turns out, more and more of us are getting into sports as a form of exercise. We’re starting to shun the gym in favor for a more interactive and social workout. So whether football is your thing or you’re more of a swimmer, here are some of the most unique and grueling sporting fixtures of the year to get some exercise inspiration for your workouts…

European Weightlifting Championships – 1st-9th April

The Sport:

This annual event has been taking place since 1896 and this year it’s Croatia’s turn to host. Weightlifting is one of the biggest tests of strength and form. Until quite recently it was viewed as a way to build impressive muscle. Lots of women were turned off. However, there is now more and more proof that implementing weight training into your regime will help with weight loss, strength, and overall fitness.

Can Sports Lead You To Easy Money?

the-ball-stadion-football-the-pitch-47354We could all use a little more money. And there’s no-one in the world who doesn’t think about using their passion to make money. The truth is that most people aren’t willing to try. So, whether it’s a way of making a few bucks here and there or finding a real career, let’s look at how to make it a reality. Here’s how your love of the game (whatever game that may be) can put some dough in the bank.

Share that passion

Are you informed? Are you opinionated? Are you the person that always seems to have the facts and figures to support what you say that leaves your friends without a comeback? Then you might just be the kind of person who could make it talking about sports online. Whether you’re running a blog or speaking through Youtube or podcasts, there’s always room for up-and-coming mouthpieces who know how to win and audience and drop some knowledge. It’s a competitive field, but it’s also one with plenty of opportunities for monetization. For instance, you can use affiliates programs or sponsors related to the subjects you’re covering, like betting sites or sports memorabilia businesses. You could also go into writing books or even branching into journalism from covering sports for your own brand.

MLB: ‘Out of Options’ Players

2017-Dylan-Bundy-Out-of-Options-MLBIt’s important to know which current young MLB players that are now out of minor league options. If they are struggling, they can’t demote him unless they first put him on waivers. It would make him available for any MLB team to claim him and take on their contract. Some good players do get through waivers, but it’s due to their contract being too big to take on.

A notable player that could be affected is Dylan Bundy (Orioles) who struggled with injuries in the minors. He was once a top prospect, so the Orioles will try to keep him on the 25-man roster. He will be given every opportunity to improve while on the Major League roster.

I need to give a huge shoutout to MLBTradeRumors.com for this list. It consists of players with less than five years of serve time and are out of minor league options.

Sports Crush: Nikki Bella

Nikki Bella wwe abs tits boobs stomach hot sexy Fearless WWE Total Divas Bellas Bella Twins ring gear smallerWe’ve written over a dozen ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched AmericasWhiteBoy.com. We have spotlighted a ton of WWE Divas (Becky LynchLanaSasha BanksAlexa Bliss, Emma and Liv Morgan). The response has been fantastic, so we decided to profile a WWE women’s superstar, Nikki Bella.

Nikki, whose real name is Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace, signed with WWE in 2007 with her twin sister Brie. She was mostly a valet for the early part of her career. They both took a year off in 2012, but came back stronger in-ring competitors. She is a two-time WWE Divas Champion and stars in two reality shows, ‘Total Divas’ and ‘Total Bellas’.

She is dating WWE superstar John Cena and rumor is she will become a part-time performer soon due to a nagging neck injury.

Check out a picture gallery, and a very special .gif of her entrance, to see why we are crushing on Nikki Bella.

Why America Should Embrace Soccer

America flag soccerUnless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve had at least one small brush with soccer. Soccer, or football as the rest of the world calls it, is the most popular sport on earth. Despite this, it’s something that Americans have never really embraced en-masse. While you might love basketball or our own brand of football like you could love no other sport, I think soccer is greatly misunderstood by a lot of Americans. Here are a few reasons to give it another chance…

It’s Gaining Traction

The NFL certainly isn’t in any danger of being knocked off of its pedestal in America. However, there’s no denying that soccer is steadily gaining its fandom and momentum. MLS, the US’s official professional soccer league, has a small but very passionate following, the US men’s national team boasts its own ardent fanbase, and CONCACAF Gold Cup tickets from Ticket Liquidator and other sellers are more popular than they’ve ever been. The ratings for 2014’s World Cup were also much higher in America than they’ve been in previous years. I’m not suggesting you should blindly jump on every bandwagon that comes along. However, if you think that soccer is still a tiny niche among Americans, you’re greatly mistaken!

2017 Caleb Swanigan Purdue Boilermakers NCAA Tournament March MadnessWe are here to help you fill out your brackets and finally beat your cubicle neighbor in your office pool this year.

Purdue were one of the preseason favorites to win the Big Ten this season. They accomplished that goal, but fell short in the conference tournament. I thought they deserved a higher seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Vermont went undefeated in the America East conference. Head coach John Becker will be getting a lot of phone calls this offseason and will have a shot to lead a bigger program.
