2017 March Madness: #8 Wisconsin vs #9 Virginia Tech

2017 Nigel Hayes Wisconsin Badgers Virginia Tech Hokies NCAA Tournament March MadnessWe are here to help you fill out your brackets and finally beat your cubicle neighbor in your office pool this year.

The ACC was stacked this year. If a team from that conference made it to the Big Dance, they are battle-tested. There was no easy path through the ACC this season. Virginia Tech will come into this game prepared.

The Big Ten is known for defense and methodical offenses. I think you will see both from Wisconsin in this tournament.

Can Virginia Tech knock off Wisconsin in the first round?

Who do you think will win? We help you fill out your bracket.

The Wisconsin Badgers fell short to the Michigan Wolverines in the Big Ten tournament final. They didn’t shoot well and Michigan basically owned them on both ends of the court in the second half. The Badgers have a lot of guys on the team like Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig with tournament experience. I think their defense will play a key role in this game.

The Virginia Tech Hokies played a rough ACC conference schedule. They survived with wins against Duke, Virginia and Florida State. They also had a few bad losses along the way. They don’t rebound well, but they do like to run on offense. We shall see if they will be able to get any fast break chances against the Badgers.

I have to pick Wisconsin here. Virginia Tech will suffer in games in which their shooters are a bit cold. They are one of the worst teams in Division-I in second chance opportunities.

Prediction: #8 Wisconsin Badgers
